Buxton Festival

Buxton Festival is a 17-day summer celebration of opera, music and literature. Every year we welcome around 40,000 people from across the country to our July Festival.

BIFOur Festival programme is varied, including:

  • literary talks by the UK's leading personalities and authors
  • concerts and recitals from the best in UK music
  • a diverse programme of rarely performed opera including at least one produced just for Buxton Festival by our own company

Alongside our central Festival we also programme a year-round programme of Outreach activities. The Outreach Programme aims to involve over 2,000 people from our community in free creative arts activities.

Projects are designed to include a range of people including school children, children with special needs, elderly people, young artists and musicians.

We make it a priority to work in partnership with other arts and statutory organisations where possible and are delighted to work with the Derbyshire Music Education Hub this year.  All our Outreach projects are offered at no cost to the participants.
