Dalesman Male Voice Choir Student Award Competition
For all instrumentalists and singers in year 12 or 13 offering a first prize of £400 − sponsored by the Dalesmen Male Voice Choir
The Dalesmen Male Voice Choir hold an annual Student Award Competition open to any young musicians in year 12 or 13 who studies and/or is resident in Derbyshire.
The competition usually opens applications in December for the competition in the following spring. Below is the competition details for 2020.

About the competition...
- This competition is open to all instrumentalists and singers in year 12 or 13 at school/sixth form/college
- First prize - £400, Second prize - £150, Third prize - £75
- Applicants must reside or be educated in Derbyshire
- Applicants are expected to perform a minimum of two, but a maximum of four items on their chosen instrument/voice, lasting a minimum of 12 minutes and a maximum of 15 minutes
- The performance will take place in front of a panel of adjudicators
- Applicants may only enter on one instrument/voice and only one application per person will be accepted
- Is it expected that applicants will be at grade 7 or above on their chosen instrument or as a vocalist
- Applicants are encouraged to provide their own accompanist however if your accompanist is not able to come with you, the Musical Director of the Dalesman Male Voice Choir will be available to fill that role
- If you are a vocalist, you may alternatively accompany yourself on an instrument or with a sound system.
