Auditions for The Snowman Tour

We are delighted to once again offer children up to and including year 8 the chance to sing the evocative Walking in the Air solo during The Snowman Tour performances in Buxton and Derby.

This is a wonderful and unique opportunity for any young musician to sing alongside a professional orchestra and in front of hundreds of people.

Auditions

We are looking for singer with an unchanged voice, up to and including year 8. You will be asked to perform the song Walking in the Air for your audition.

For Buxton performances

• Audition date: Wednesday 16 October, 5.00pm–7.30pm
  Buxton Community School, College Rd, Buxton SK17 9EA
• For performances at one of these events at The Octagon, Buxton:
  Thursday 12 December: 1.45pm or 6.30pm

For Derby Performances

• Audition date: Saturday 19 October, 9.00am–12.30pm
  At Derby Music Centre, Beaufort Primary School, Hampshire Rd, Derby DE21 6BT
• For performances at one of these events at Derby Reach:
  Thursday 5 December: 10.45am, 1.30pm or 6.30pm
  Friday 6 December: 10.30am or 1.30pm

Preparation

The score, and tracks are available below to help you prepare for your audition. We suggest practising your performance with the vocal track first, but move to the instrumental track without vocals as this will be what we expect in an audition.

It is OK to use music or words in the audition but we ask auditionees to make sure they look up and show us some facial expression when singing the solo.
