Payment arrangements for Deliverers

Content summary...

Derby & Derbyshire Music Partnership advise schools to set up Deliverers (teachers) on School payroll as a supply teacher to receive payments for. In cases where setting up this can be difficult or lengthy, schools can discuss with their deliverer about paying by invoice as a temporary measure.

Rates of pay

Deliverers will claim for 1 hour 15 minutes (1.25 hours) per session at the rate of £41.60/hour (£52/session), which includes the 45-minute lesson delivery, as well as set-up and planning time.

This rate of pay totals to a representative £1560 per full year programme of 30 sessions – this will match the base cost of the programme as set out in your agreement.

  • Changes for 2025-26
This is marginally higher than the 2024-25 rate of £41.47/hour, but represents a total increase of only £5 per full programme of 30 sessions. This has been brought in to avoid rounding errors of the previous programme total creating a .4666 recurring hourly rate.

Claiming payments

Deliverers prepare a timesheet for each school, detailing the dates and classes taught per month.

Payment by invoice

For those schools that have to rely on invoicing, Deliverers will invoice at intervals which suit them (though we suggest monthly, half-termly or termly). This may be itemised as hours or sessions, but will use the hourly rates explained above.

If needed, schools can contact us to confirm whether the Deliverer has a Derbyshire County Council vendor number already.
