Handbells
A project for KS1 or 2 pupils delivered in-house by school staff after being trained at a CPD event
Handbells is a programme of Classroom Instrumental Learning designed to be delivered in house by school staff after attending a CPD event.
Handbells is suitable for Key Stage 1 or 2 classes, giving pupils the opportunity to learn how to play tuned percussion instruments and and explore key musical concepts.
A typical project includes:
- Musicianship and instrumental skills
Key musical concepts such as beat, rhythm, tempo, pitch and dynamics areintroduced to children through songs, rhythm games and learning to play theinstruments together.
- Confidence and self-esteem
Pupils are taught within a normal classroom setting, encouraging the growth of self-confidence as they learn alongside each other and their teachers.
- Key Stage 1
A 90-minute training session covers all aspects of the programme including teaching notes, backing tracks and resources for 8 pieces that can be taught at your own pace.
- Key Stage 2
A 90-minute training session covers all aspects of the programme including teaching notes, backing tracks a 10-week scheme of learning with pieces appropriate for this age range.
How much does a Handbells programme cost?
The cost is £150 per programme. This includes a class set of handbells and all resources.
