Our tailored programmes of five sessions explore a variety of musical instruments and build confidence, creativity and musical skills
Creative Opportunities has been developed to allow all pupils to access music through personalised learning, exploring musical instruments (including technology where appropriate), and communicating through musical sound. The programme's main aims are to
- communicate through musical sound, as pupils learn and explore with a range of instruments suitable for their needs
- encourage musical creativity and work towards performing together
How Creative Opportunities works
Our 5-week inclusive music programmes are delivered by specially trained teachers and each programme is bespoke to the needs of your pupils. We will work with your school to tailor each programme for different age groups and abilities.
The programme will consist of 5 x 45-minute lessons timetabled at a convenient time for you. A range of instruments will also be provided including untuned and tuned percussion (coloured chime bars), Ukuleles, keyboards, and violins. School instruments including iPads can also be included.
What your pupils will learn
Each programme is bespoke to the individual setting, but participants will develop a range of musical skills which may include:
- Stopping and starting
Using the elements of music (tempo, dynamics, duration etc.)
Following a colour score [and reading music notation]
Performing with others
Following a conductor
- Help to improve communication and interaction
Aid cognition and learning
Boost social, emotional and mental health
Encourage physical and sensory development
