Important information about attending a City & County Youth Orchestra course

- Where and when
Wednesday 18 - Friday 20 February 2026 at Whitemoor Lakes Centre, Barley Green Ln, Lichfield WS13 8QT
- How to get there and where to check in
Enter the site via the main car park (open Google Maps) and head for the reception to check in.
- When to arrive
Check in will open at 10.00am, with the first rehearsal starting at 10.30am.
- What to bring
Your instrument, a pencil for rehearsals, enough clothes for five days, something to sleep in, toiletries (including hand soap), towel, concert clothes and any personal items or medications that are needed.

Black shirt, trousers or dress/skirt and black shoes

Friday 20 February at Whitemoor Lakes Centre.

Tickets will be available closer to the event.

Answers to common questions
- Can parents stay and watch some of the course?
Unfortunately, we cannot host parents at the course other than during check in.
- Are there any refreshments outside of meals?
There will be basic refreshments available to buy. Water and hot drinks will be provided.
- Does anything need to be prepared in advance?
Unless you are sent repertoire in advance specifically, participants do not need to prepare anything before attending.
- Can over 18s drink alcohol / smoke?
Smoking and drinking is not allowed on the residential site at all.
- Can my child bring a friend?
Unfortunately not for this course, but they are welcome to apply for an audition for the next course.
Payments
- How do I make an online payment?
Please do this using Derbyshire County Council's payment service. This link is in your confirmation email too.
- Can I pay on arrival for the course?
Unfortunately, we cannot accept cash or card payments when the course starts.
- I think something has gone wrong with my payment, what do I do?
