Important details about the singing mornings

  • Where and when
    Sunday 11 May and Sunday 22 June, 9.30am-1.00pm at County Hall Matlock – Open in Google Maps.
  • When to arrive
    Please arrive from 9.15am for a 9.30am start.

Answers to common questions

  • Where can I park at County Hall?
    County Hall has a car park a little further down the hill with a sign saying "Car Park". From the car park you can walk up to County Hall. – Open in Google Maps.
  • Can I stay at County Hall during the morning and watch?
    Unfortunately, we cannot host parents at County Hall during the singing morning, but we invite you to listen to a short showcase of what has been learned in the morning at 12.30pm. Please gather at the reception of County Hall if you want to attend this.
  • Are there any refreshments?
    We do not provide refreshments other than water. If your child needs anything, we suggest they bring it with them. Please do not bring any snacks that contain nuts.
  • Does my child need to prepare anything?
    No, the morning's activities are accessible on the day without any preparation
  • Can my child bring a friend?
    Certainly, but they will need to be registered with us first. They can sign up to a few days before the singing morning at derbyshiremusichub.org.uk/djc

Important details about the Buxton Performance

Derbyshire Junior Choir is performing alongside the Derby & Derbyshire Schools' Orchestra concert in Buxton in July.

  • Where and when
    Thursday 17 July at Buxton Octagon (The Pavilion Gardens) - Open in Google Maps.
  • When to arrive
    Arrive at 4.45pm for a 5.00-6.00pm rehearsal
  • Concert
    The concert will start at 7.30pm

Answers to common questions

  • What is the dress code for the performance?
    Something smart/casual and appropriate for a concert which is bright, summery and comfortable.
  • Can my child bring food?
    Children will be able to bring something small to eat and drink with them, but it cannot contacin nuts.
  • Will there be tickets on sale to buy to watch the performance?
    Yes, tickets will be on sale, and all families will receive a link when they are ready to buy. Participating children will not need a ticket. 
  • Will we need to prepare any of the music for the performance?
    We'll start learning the music at our next Singing Day (Sunday 22 June), and we'll share with you a playlist and lyrics in later emails. 


Payments

  • How do I make an online payment?
    Please do this using Derbyshire County Council's payment service. This link is in your confirmation email too. 
  • Can I pay on the door?
    Unfortunately, we cannot accept cash or card payments on the door.
  • I think something has gone wrong with my payment, what do I do?
