The Music in Me

Watch the video below about heartening tale of a young boy who is on a quest to find his "inner music"

Discuss... With a member of your family, talk about the different instruments you saw then become a Music Machine just like Sam in the story.

Try with a song of your own... Play a song you like and see if you can clap your hands and tap your toes just like Sam did. Can you think of any other sounds you can use for your music machine?

The big ship sails on the ally-ally-oh

In Week 7's activities we learnt a song about a sailor going to sea. Have a go if you haven't done this!

Sticking with the same theme, we're going to explore a song about a ship this week, called The Big Ship Sails on the Ally-Ally-Oh. Follow the link below to the BBC Teach website.

You can learn the song with the first (larger) video and when you think you're ready to have a go at the whole song, you can sing along with the full song on the videos a bit further down the page.

Go to the BBC Teach website for this song...

Action time...

At the end of verse 1 you have to sing Climb the rigging! Can you make some actions to do at the same time as singing?

At the end of verse 2 you have to sing Salute the Captain! Can you make some actions for this too?

You can download the lyrics sheet from the BBC website, but we have also included it below for you too.
