Finding Sounds Challenge

Explore your house and see if you can find objects that match the descriptions below and think about which is your favourite and why... (Reminder: we made sounds with just paper in issue 5 take a look if you haven't seen this)

  • Can you shake it?
    Find an object that shakes and draw a picture of it. What instrument does this remind you of?
  • Made of wood
    FInd an object that is made out of wood and draw a picture of it. Does it make a long or short sound?
  • Made of metal
    Find an object that is made of metal and draw a picture of it. Does it make a long or short sound?
  • Can you rub this against something?
    Find an object that you can rub and draw a picture of it. What sound does it make?

Can you find any other interesting sounds around your house? Think about what they're made of and what kind of sound they make.
